&#8212; Fooling Around\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" src=\"https:\/\/alax.info\/blog\/2033\/embed#?secret=ql60RYMZrd\" data-secret=\"ql60RYMZrd\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The side by side comparison with desktop RX 570 card shows a few interesting things:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/alax.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/image.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"627\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/alax.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/image-627x600.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2041\" srcset=\"https:\/\/alax.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/image-627x600.png 627w, https:\/\/alax.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/image-320x306.png 320w, https:\/\/alax.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/image-768x735.png 768w, https:\/\/alax.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/image-600x574.png 600w, https:\/\/alax.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/image-1040x995.png 1040w, https:\/\/alax.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/image.png 1216w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 627px) 100vw, 627px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Radeon RX Vega M GH Graphics has the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.intel.com\/content\/www\/us\/en\/support\/products\/136866\/graphics-drivers\/graphics-for-8th-generation-intel-processors\/radeon-rx-vega-m-gh-graphics.html\">latest driver<\/a>, but AMF runtime version is way behind the latest: 1.4.11, that is, the system does not receive timely update (and overall its already <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kitguru.net\/components\/graphic-cards\/james-dawson\/intel-to-discontinue-amd-collaboration-kaby-lake-g-in-2020\/\">discontinued<\/a>)<\/li><li>Even though some performance tuning might be coming from AMF updates, H.265\/HEVC encoder performance suggests that the circuitry is pretty much the same and HEVC encoder numbers are close<\/li><li>Embedded version of H.264 encoder is limited to nicely support 1920&#215;1080@60 with reasonable headspace and it is assumed that higher resolutions are to be handled by next gen codec;
